A truely professional and caring lawyer.

Amy has undertaken two cases for my family. In the first case I was arrested for a DUI after I had taken a standard dose of ambien (10 mg) (a sleep medication). Unexpectedly I had to take my psychiatrically ill son to our cabin after taking the medication. I suffered a complete global amnesia for ab...out 30 minutes and was lucky not to have an accident. I regained my senses when stopped by the police. Amy carried out a thorough interview gave an opinion on the case and proceeded to obtain the necessary documents to get a deeper insight into the case. As a result, after her negotiations with the DA she was able to offer me a reduction to a DWAI with only the requirements of the laws passed by the Colorado government. Amy provided a choice between the DWAI plea or going to trial and presented the case for both options. I accepted the plea after considering both options. The court proceeding were brief and Amy gave a spirited explanation of the reasons for my driving after taking ambien. The result was that my insurers were very reasonable and the conviction had no effect on my premiums. The second case concerned my psychiatrically ill son. He suffers from severe paranoia and believed that people were coming into his apartment at night, pulling him out of bed and stealing his camera. He challenged one person about this and was knocked unconscious by that person who then drove way in a SUV with no plates, my wife and I witnessed this. After being knocked out when he came round my son had a psychotic incident in which he broke a car window and ran around the apartments shouting that he would get even with his attacker even though that person had clearly left the apartment block. The police were called by a lady who claimed my son had threatened to kill her (we did not hear our son shout this threat). The lady and the owner of the vehicle with the broken window insisted on pressing charges and my son was charged with third degree menacing and criminal damage. Again Amy carefully and gently interviewed my son and gathered all the information concerning the case. My wife and I were able to contradict statements made by the lady complaining that she had be threated, but Amy negotiated such a good plea that going to trial would have been pointless, as a result the costs were $26! This plea was especially important as my son is a permanent resident and could have been deported if he had been found guilty. Amy worked with our immigration lawyer to ensure that the plea agreed on with the DA did not render our son liable to deportation. This result was excellent and all we could have hoped for. All penalties were deferred and our son was put on unsupervised probation for one year. We were extremely pleased with the result and glad we did not choose the option to go to trial with all its uncertainties. We have been very pleased with the service Amy has rendered our family and would certainly use her services again should any of us have the misfortune to clash with the law in the future. We would also unreservedly recommend her to our friends and any one else who is in need of a criminal defense lawyer.

Experience counts!

Amy is very experienced and this made her a great attorney to defend me in a pretty complicated traffic dispute where I was charged with Assault 3. She became very emotionally invested in getting me the most positive outcome. She helped me be patient with the drawn out timeline and the way Distric...t Attorneys do everything at the last moment, and I would have been distraught if I had not been prepared for a long drawn out process and the 11th hour decision making. She called in an expert who was very helpful and she used the information to my advantage.
