Bree Cole specializes in representing immigrant victims of crime, immigrants in removal proceedings, and clients with family based immigration cases. Born and raised in Farmington, New Mexico, Bree received her J.D. and M.A. in Latin American Studies from the University of New Mexico in May 2009. Bree relocated to Colorado with her family in 2013 and is very happy to call Steamboat Springs home.
Bree developed an expertise in criminal defense working as a public defender in Albuquerque, New Mexico at the felony and misdemeanor levels. Through that work, she became skilled at navigating the intersection of immigration and criminal law. She regularly provided detailed guidance to her foreign-born clients, as well as her colleagues, regarding the immigration consequences of criminal convictions. Bree brings her knowledge of criminal defense to her immigration law practice and excels at representing clients in each of those legal settings. She is an active volunteer and has given her time to represent detained immigrants with the Rocky Mountain Immigrant Advocacy Network in Denver since 2014. Bree has also represented immigrant victims of crime through the Immigrant Advocacy Program at Advocates Building Peaceful Communities, a non-profit agency in Steamboat Springs working to end domestic violence. She speaks fluent Spanish.
