Vincent Joseph Wegher

As a trial lawyer, Vince has advised and represented general contractors, subcontractors, sureties and other entities in all types of construction matters ranging in size from large-scale industrial commercial construction projects to single-family home residential construction.

Vince’s typical caseload includes: construction defect claims; surety bond claims; construction contract review, formation, and dispute resolution; bidding issues; mechanics' liens and enforcement actions; payment matters; delay and disruption claims; building code violation claims; concealed site conditions claims; arbitration clause disputes, EIFS litigation and Spearin Doctrine claims. Vince is also experienced in resolving construction matters by mediation and arbitration under the American Arbitration Association - Construction Industry Rules and has appealed several construction cases to Kentucky Court of Appeals.

In addition to his legal practice, Mr. Wegher is also a licensed Professional Engineer (P.E.) with ten plus years of practical experience in the construction industry. During his engineering career, Vince was involved in all aspects of the construction process including: construction design engineering and “Greenfield” facilities design; design review and management; project estimating; scheduling; on-site field observation; site surveying; submittal review; requests for information and change orders; as-built drawings; and project close-out.

Vince also has extensive experience relating to construction project administration including: site development and planning; complex municipal water system and drainage modeling; easements; project owner representation; construction quality control and assurance; state and federal regulatory compliance; multifaceted project negotiations; and creating and implementing project engineering design standards. As an engineer, Vince worked for and with numerous private entities; small and medium municipalities; large cities; state governments; and governmental agencies including: OSHA, EPA, DOE, DOD, GSA and USPS.

Vince is well versed on legal issues facing the construction industry, and as both a lawyer and experienced Professional Engineer, he is often able to offer clients unique insights regarding their specific construction law matters.

Vince received his Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from the Colorado School of Mines in 1989 including a minor in Environmental Science, and his Juris Doctorate degree from the University of Montana School of Law in 2002. Vince was admitted to the Colorado Bar Association in 2003 and the Kentucky Bar Association in 2003. Vince is also admitted to practice in the United States District Eastern District Kentucky, the United States District Court Western District Kentucky, and the United States District Court Colorado.

Vince is a member of the ABA Forum on the Construction Industry and Phi Delta Phi Internal Legal Fraternity.
