Blake Barnett

Blake is a young lawyer from New York who began their career in the legal field as a law clerk for a small family law firm in Miami, Florida. While initially wanting to work in criminal prosecution, Blake quickly learned that family law was their calling once they were able to begin building their skill set in the dissolution realm.

Blake attended The Florida State University where they received a Bachelor of Science in Family and Child Sciences with a minor focused in Psychology. Despite being a diehard Seminole fan, Blake attended the University of Miami School of Law and graduated with a Juris Doctorate in 2019. While at the University of Miami, Blake worked for both a private family law firm and the Health Rights Clinic on campus. These experiences taught Blake the importance of careful preparation, how to structure legal arguments both orally and written, and how to approach cases from different perspectives.

Blake is especially skilled with high conflict divorce cases involving child issues and provides in depth and focused attention to their cases. Blake is a zealous advocate for their clients, and has experience with child support, maintenance, child custody issues, relocations, and the allocations of marital estates. Blake also offers a distinctive perspective for the LGBTQ+ community as they understand the intricacies and needs of these unique families as a member of the community themselves.

When not at the office, Blake enjoys the typical Colorado lifestyle, spending majority of their time hiking 14-er’s, camping, and climbing with their five-year-old Golden Retriever named Harley!
