John Robert Holland

I met John and his team in 2010 after I was brutally beaten by the Denver Police for doing nothing wrong. In 2009 I was racially profiled and pulled over for what police said was an illegal left turn. After I was removed from my car I asked to see a warrant before three officers continued to tear apa...rt my vehicle. The response of the officers was to beat me near death with their fists, a radio, a flashlight, and a service revolver. As I lay dying I was further assaulted verbally by being called a ni**er. After refusing to allow treatment until someone took pictures of my injuries I received 45 stitches, a broken nose, a concussion, and suffered a traumatic brain injury and was sent to jail. My fabricated criminal charges were dismissed in court a week before trail and as I began to comb through civil attorneys on my continuous path to find justice I found this more difficult than I would of expected. After speaking to roughly 30 different civil firms, some even out of state, no one wanted to take my case. Most firms would tell me I didn't even have a case. Then I met John and his team. They carefully went through every detail of my case and brought me in for a consultation. I immediately feel in love with these people. So down to earth and wholehearted, yet ferocious and incredibly intelligent in the way they handle cases. The city of Denver didn't stand a chance. We sued and settled out of court for 795,000 dollars this was the 4th largest civil settlement for police abuse Denver had ever seen at that time. John and his team helped me get my narrative of what happened out to the world. When no one wanted to listen, when the city of Denver turned their back on me along with media outlets and other civil firms John and the team where their for me. Addressing these types of injustices has now become my life's work and this team played a role in that. We are now incredibly bonded and have long since maintained a relationship as friends, colleagues and family which continues to this very day.

We had hired 24 hour caregivers for our mother with Alzheimers. When a caregiver abandoned her she was severely hurt and passed away 5 days later. The same day our father requested we get justice for mom. He then discontinued dialysis and died 2 weeks later. When I called John's office I was treate...d with great kindness and although he was in a meeting, John returned my call within 10 minutes. John took our case even though they were very busy at the time. John didn't wast a second getting justice for mom. Truthfully, I don't believe John has ever wasted a minute of his time. His dedication in getting justice for the I'll and elderly along with his passion for civil rights is awe-inspiring. Although it was a complicated case, he succeeded in getting our family justice within 10 months. Through out this difficult law suit John and his team treated us like family and helped us through a very sad time. John and his team will always hold a very special place in our hearts. He helped our family realize it is still a fair world and good people are working hard to keep it that way. Our family is eternally grateful.
