A History of Excellence on Both Sides of the Bar
Robbie Meripol Barr’s varied experiences as a lawyer and a judge have contributed to decades of ADR success for Colorado lawyers in their complex civil cases. Over the past 20 years, Robbie has resolved thousands of matters, successfully settling employment law, professional malpractice, complex commercial transactions, construction defects and delays, personal injury/ wrongful death, insurance, probate, real property, environmental law, and civil rights cases.
As a mediator, she worked with one of the largest, most notable mediation firms in Colorado. As a private attorney, she was awarded an AV Martindale-Hubbell rating for her commitment to excellence and honesty in her legal work.
Robbie also understands the court process from a judge's perspective. She presided over several courtrooms in Miami-Dade County (juvenile, civil and felony), the largest circuit in the state of Florida, and the fourth largest trial court in the nation. In that capacity and contemporaneously with her civil docket, she handled over 2,300 asbestos cases which resulted in a 95% settlement rate. She was invited to sit as a visiting Appellate Judge in Florida's Fourth District Court of Appeals.
Leadership in Action
Robbie graduated with her Bachelor's degree magna cum laude from the Newcomb College of Tulane University. She continued her pursuit of education excellence by attending the University of Miami for her J.D., where she acted as an Editor for the UM Law Review before graduating cum laude.
Since then, she has shared her love of learning and experience as a judge and high-profile ADR professional all over the country and internationally. She has been a teacher for the National Institute of Trial Advocacy (1992-2019), an adjunct professor at her alma mater, the University of Miami School of Law, and the Chair of the Education Section of the Conference of Circuit Judges.
In addition, she has held positions of note in a number of legal organizations. She was an appointed member of Florida’s Article V Advisory Committee, has presented on ADR topics for the American Bar Association, Colorado Women's Bar Association, and the Colorado Judicial Conference, served as a Board Member for the CWBA and was a Director and President of the Boulder Bar Foundation.
