Dru Nielsen is a founding partner of Eytan Nielsen. Since graduating from law school in 1997, Dru has devoted her entire career to zealously representing individuals accused of committing crimes. While Dru has won dozens of "not guilty" verdicts at trials in charges ranging from economic crimes to sexual assault, Dru's unique ability to successfully resolve serious cases prior to trial has earned her the respect of clients and opponents alike. A fellow Super Lawyer and former prosecutor states, "I have known Dru for over a decade, and in that time I have seen her in action in the courtroom as an opponent. I have seen her help a multitude of people naviage the criminal justice system with uncommon skill. I have also seen her, through persistence and hard work, rescure multiple criminal defendants from extermely seriously false allegations. Dru would be my first call if a friend or a family member were ever in trouble."
Dru knew from an early age that she wanted to be a lawyer. Immdiately upon graduating from law school, Dru went to work as a Deputy State of Colorad Public Defender representing individuals accused of committing every type of crime. In the 10 years that she served as a public defender, Dru successfully defended hundreds of cases, including those accused in high profile murder, domestic violence, and sexual assault cases. At the time Dru moved into private practice, Dru served as the felony division lead in the Denver Trial Office. In 2007, Dru joined Iris Eytan and Larry Pozner in the criminal division of Reilly Pozner, As a partner at Reilly Pozner, Dru consistently continued to represent defendants in high profile cases, but it is the individuals Dru has reprsented who the public never hears about or will ever hear about that she considers some of her biggest success. Dru is accomplished and experienced in corporate crime representing business executives and corporations in complex cases involving bank fraud, embezzlement, forgery, environmental schemes including OSHA, cybercrime, and investment fraud in Federal Court. Dru is often hired to represent individuals at the investatory stage. Due to her uncanny ability to dissect both factual scenarios and high emotions, Dru has achieved great success in convincing authorities to either not file charges or dismiss the case against her clients.
In 2015, Dru and her longtime criminal defense partner, Iris Eytan, formed Eytan Nielsen LLC with the goal of providing the highest level of representation and service to those facing allegations of wrongdoing. As a mother of two boys, Dru is particuarly passionate about defendng boys and men who are wrongly accused of domestic violence or sexual misconduct in both the university disciplinary and criminal proceedings. A parent of one of those young men says of Dru's work in this area, "Dru represented my son when he was arrested. Not only did she work diligently to get the false charges dismissed, she was great to a terrified family."
