Craig Arthur Sargent

Craig Sargent has been a trial attorney since 1988 concentrating in the defense of health care professionals and facilities in professional liability cases. His practice includes malpractice defense, representing physicians and other healthcare providers in medical malpractice lawsuits, disciplinary actions, medical practice management, drug and medical device litigation, HIPAA, and other general medical practice issues. Craig also represents clients in general business litigation matters across the country. He has experience in real estate litigation, plaintiff personal injury, business litigation, breach of contract, insurance defense litigation, and construction litigation. Craig has tried numerous cases throughout Colorado and has represented clients around the country. Craig also has an active appellate practice and frequently handles cases in front of the Colorado Court of Appeals and Colorado Supreme Court. Craig has worked as a mediator over the years, negotiating settlements in a number of complex cases. He has also been asked to serve as an arbiter. Because of his reputation as an excellent trial attorney, Craig also serves as a trial and litigation consultant, including all aspects of pre-trial matters, development of discovery and trial strategies, witness/expert witness selection, witness preparation, deposition strategies, jury consulting, and trial monitoring. Craig is a member of the American, Colorado, Denver, and Arapahoe County Bar Associations and is a member of the Defense Research Institute, where he serves on the Professionalism and Litigation Committees. He has served on the Board of Directors of the Colorado Defense Lawyers Association. Over the years he has served on the combined Denver and Colorado Bar Professionalism Committee, the Interprofessional Committee, and the Health Care Law Committee. Craig has been an invited lecturer for various local and national legal and medical organizations on issues dealing with medical practice office management and medical malpractice issues in general.
