Cecil is a Director in the firm of Fairfield and Woods, PC, in Denver. Cecil graduated from the New York University School of Law, has been in practice for more than 35 years, and is a member of the California and Colorado bars. Cecil’s practice emphasizes complex civil litigation and arbitration, mainly in the areas of securities, business, and commercial law.
Cecil also devotes a substantial part of his practice to legal ethics and attorney discipline defense. Among other things, Cecil has been a member of Standing Committee on the Rules of Professional Conduct of the Colorado Supreme Court since it was formed; he has been an active member of the Ethics Committee of the Colorado Bar Association for more than 20 years and was Chair of the Committee in 2004-2005; and he was a member of the Conduct Committee of the United States District Court for the District of Colorado from 2005 to 2011 and was Chair of the Committee in 2010-2011. In addition, Cecil writes and lectures frequently on issues of legal ethics.
