Domenic William Nicotra

I consultated with Domenic to help me with a contested adoption case in January and subsequently hired him in April of 2018. He had me complete a background check by mail which took 6 months. He neglected to submit my TRAILS background until my FBI background check had expired, forcing me to complet...e the background checks for a second time in December of 2018, but this time I informed him that I could go through a handler and get my FBI and CBI check immediately. Domenic then told me he filed paperwork in Febuary of 2019,but the documents were riddled with spelling errors. It took Domenic until May of 2019 to have the papers served to the respondent. Then in June of 2019 he informed me that my backgrounds had once again expired and that he had petitioned the court to forgive the expired background checks and that I not be punished for his delays, which the judge denied resulting in another round of background checks being completed. Throughout this entire ordeal he was next to impossible to get a hold of, resulting in my having to drive 20 miles to meet with him in person unannounced at his office on more than one occasion as well as speaking with the office manager just to get him to respond to my repeated calls and emails. Finally, in July, I received an email from his firm manager which included a Letter of Continuing Directive because they hadn't heard from him in 3 weeks and only found out the status of my cause because they noticed his voicemailbox was full, and when I went down to the office to pick up my file they told me they still hadn't heard from him and essentially assumed he was dead somewhere, resulting in my wife and I having to start my adoption case over with a new attorney. Do not hire this lawyer.
