Biography
I spent 13 years in the Air Force, including service as an AFOSI special agent, before law school. I've been working on veterans' cases ever since.
I co-founded Valor Veterans Law, where I handle VA disability appeals from the regional office through the Board of Veterans' Appeals and the U.S. Court of Appeals for Veterans Claims. I also lead the firm's discharge upgrade and estate planning work.
I founded and chair the Rocky Mountain Veterans Advocacy Project, and I previously directed the Veterans Advocacy Project at the University of Denver's Sturm College of Law. I serve on the board of the Colorado Bar Association's Military and Veterans' Affairs Section and belong to the National Organization of Veterans' Advocates. 5280 magazine has named me a Top Lawyer in 2024, 2025, and 2026.
Most of my clients come to me after the VA has told them no, sometimes for years. Not every case can be won. I'll tell you one way or another whether I think yours can be, and why.
