Robert J. Shilliday III

I contacted Mr. Shilliday about a bankruptcy case involving a tenant. As most attorneys do, he asked for a retainer fee but informed me that because this was a very straight forward case the total fees would be less. In the end, Mr. Shilliday determined that he would not be able to try the case be...cause of the bankruptcy filed by the tenant. We eventually (after many months of requesting the money back), we were sent a small portion of the money back. When I questioned him as to why I was not refunded more, he said he had to pay his paralegal to do a bunch of work but that would still be willing to refund more and would just bill me on the paralegal's fees, not his. I contacted him over a half dozen times to refund the amount he promised he would and he refused to respond. Very deceitful and dishonest guy. This has forced us to file a formal complaint with the Colorado Supreme Court.
