A Born Litigator With Unmatched Discipline

You can read previously printed commentary about Mr. Levy’s litigation skills in Westword, where he is said to “come across as a born litigator,” or in previous reviews online characterizing him as a “tenacious litigator.” His professional record includes work before the Colorado Supreme Court, the C...olorado Court of Appeals, federal courts, and the Tenth Circuit. He has a track record of landmark results in complex, high-stakes cases. When Mr. Levy began representing me, I was living in the aftermath of a wreck that had changed nearly every part of my life. The legal claim was only one part of the damage. My health, independence, stability and ability to manage daily life had all been deeply affected. I was not simply a personal-injury case; I was someone trying to rebuild a life that no longer resembled the one I had before. That reality did not always make me an easy client to represent. The physical and emotional consequences of the wreck left me overwhelmed and often fearful about the future. Mr. Levy understood where my questions, urgency and concerns came from. He treated me with patience and compassion, while maintaining the discipline needed to keep a complex case moving forward. Even during a difficult personal time, when he would have been entirely justified in putting his own needs first, Mr. Levy made himself available to address an urgent concern of mine. That moment spoke volumes about the seriousness with which he treated my case and the people he represents. His approach to litigation was calm, deliberate, and exacting. He studied the facts, identified the questions that had not been answered, and returned to them until the larger structure of the case came into focus. He did not appear rattled by pressure or distracted by conflict. That was especially evident during depositions. Mr. Levy questioned influential and powerful defendants about responsibility, ownership, control, and who was accountable for the care I now needed. The questioning was direct and methodical. When there was resistance to that line of inquiry, he did not retreat. He continued to press for answers and to develop the record. It was clear to me that opposing counsel knew Mr. Levy from prior high-stakes cases and understood his reputation. Their respect for his experience, preparation, and willingness to take a case to court was unmistakable, and at times it appeared to shape the intensity with which they approached the litigation. What emerged was the possibility that responsibility extended beyond the most obvious defendant. Mr. Levy’s questioning pointed toward broader sources of accountability, including layers of ownership, authority, decision-making, and control. I watched him refuse to accept a narrow explanation when the facts suggested a larger picture. Mr. Levy once told me, “I stay positioned and ready for court at all times.” From what I witnessed, that was not a slogan, it was his methodology. He was prepared, composed, and willing to take the case as far as the facts required. He brought tactical skill and empathy to a period when I needed both. It was an honor to watch Mr. Levy work while he defended me. His command of his craft and specialized skill set gave me an appreciation for the art of law that I never expected to gain from this experience. My life is forever changed because of Mr. Levy’s representation.
