medical malpractice case

In 2004 I suffered a medical malpractice issue. I called a law firm and a paralegal named Jon McDonnell answered. Atfer speaking to him, a few weeks later he informed me that he was starting his own practice as a lawyer. I didn't know better, that I should have researched this man. If I would have I ...would have know he was disbarred for embezzlement from a client and just recently reinstated. My case dragged on for 4 years, and this man was not a very kind person to work with. My understanding was that I would owe nothing unless we won this case. After 4 years he sent me a letter requesting payment. I pointed out that our agreement was his compensation was based on the case being won. We had no written contract for payment. He agreed this was the case. Then, a few weeks later, he sent me a letter stating he was no longer going to be representing medical malpractice cases and asked to close the case. FOUR YEARS later! I was tired of having to live my nightmare over and over, so I agreed to drop the case. Funny to find out he was still doing medical malpractice cases. And that he was disbarred yet again. I will always research people before hiring again.
