Todd Heideman Attorney at Law

Though our contact with Todd Heideman was basically a long distance one (we live 1500 miles away), he was very responsive as he represented our son in a case in the Denver area. He kept us informed on a regular basis and responded to our concerns (which were many, due to Colorado's shameful legal sy...stem), in a timely manner. My wife and I would recommend Todd Heideman to anyone needing the services of a lawyer.

One of the BIGGEST MISTAKES that I have ever made was believing Todd Heidman!!

Todd Heidman was my attorney off and on for about 4 yrs and I used to sing his praises and refer him to practically everyone I spoke to. That is until he actually had to go to court for me on my case he had been helping with since day 1. We went and he literally LIED to my face as well as my husband ...( a military man tht would NEVER lie about court issues) to get us to enter into a "temporary" agreement regarding my 10yr old child , Todd swore to us more than once that if we agreed to this that in 6 months he would help us change it, he PROMISED us that HE would personally help us fix it EVEN if my financial situation changed and he SWORE HE WOULD HELP NO MATTER WHAT!. It absolutely devastated me to agree to what he was asking because it was less time with my child as well as other things we weren't comfortable with at all but we TRUSTED OUR ATTORNEY and with Todd's reassurance n threat to make me represent myself we felt we had no choice but to agree tothe terms and not go forward with a trial that day and to settle to the other party involved, his terms! ONLY believing we could change it in 6 months and tht it was only temporary. 6 of the longest, hardest months later I contact Todd and try to get going on changing the situation for my child because the last 6 months had been absolute hell on him as well as myself seeing how in the 10yrs my son had been alive we didn't have to go more than 2 days without seeing each other and the new agreement made it to where we had to go 9 days without seeing each other, and to a child that's not being treated well and is sad and scared thts a long time to go without seeing your mom:( but when tht 6 month hit I did contact Todd to try and get things going and he told me several times he was working on my motion and he strung me along for a month or so then avoided me for a little while, then informed me that he would now needed $2,000 retainer to help me at all knowing how financially straining things were for us taking care of 5 children , my husband worked every weekend, nights whatever he could to come up with that money as soon as he could and I went down to the office with the $2,000 retainer just to receive an email approximately two days later from his paralegal stating Todd would no longer be able to handle my case due to a TEMPORARY health problem. Todd didn't even contact me or offer to refer me to someone tht could help me or anything just completely dropped me in the middle of a HUGE MESS HE GOT US IN! I tried to find different attorneys and I found out that he lied and you cannot even do a modification for 2 yrs not 6 months so now my son and I live in this miserable mess which has totally DEVESTATED my son. When your child comes to you and tells you that bad things are happening and he's not being treated well and you try to trust your attorney and go to court try to change things and then things only end up worse made my child lose faith in me and now he thinks that his life is just going to be this horrible forever because nobody's going to help him! I am literally been fighting for over a year now to find an attorney that will take my case and help us fix this but its such a mess nobody wants to take it, so my son and I continue to be apart, miss each other and my son cries almost every nite because he's stuck in an environment tht no child should b stuck in, when if we hadnt listen to Todd that day when I wanted to fire him and he said that if I fired him that I would have to go forward in the trial by myself and tht terrified me so we r STUCK til I find someone that can help my son! Any man that can sit there and look a mother in the eye and lie to her face while she's crying her eyes out has absolutely NO INTEGRITY and I PRAY NO MOTHER TRUSTS HIM LIKE I DID!! He has devastated absolutely all of my family but mostly my child because we all believed in him! Truly is one of the biggest mistakes of my life!! He couldve helped me after he got better, stayed true to his word

Avvo Rating

Our Rating is calculated using information the lawyer has included on their profile in addition to the information we collect from state bar associations and other organizations that license legal professionals. Attorneys who claim their profiles and provide Avvo with more information tend to have a higher rating than those who do not.

What determines Avvo Rating?
  • Experience & background Years licensed, work experience, education
  • Legal community recognition Peer endorsements, associations, awards
  • Legal thought leadership Publications, speaking engagements
  • Discipline Disciplinary information may not be comprehensive, or updated. We recommend that you always check a lawyer's disciplinary status with their respective state bar association before hiring them.
