Robin Norris

I have devoted my entire professional career of over 40 years to the practice of criminal law.  After opening my first law office in 1978, I pursued a successful trial and appellate practice before the courts of El Paso and the Texas Court of Criminal Appeals in Austin, the highest court with criminal jurisdiction in Texas.  In 1986, I was invited to join the permanent staff of the Court of Criminal Appeals, and moved to Austin with my family, where I wrote hundreds of opinions for the Court, defining and construing the criminal law of Texas for years to come.  In 1997, I returned to the practice of criminal law, with an emphasis on the representation of death row inmates convicted of capital murder.  In recent years, my practice has broadened to providing general criminal defense services to the people of El Paso County, both at trial and on appeal.  I am licensed to practice in all Texas courts, all United States District Courts in Texas, the United States Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit, and the Supreme Court of the United States. I am a member of the Texas Criminal Defense Lawyers Association, the largest private criminal defense organization in the United States.
