Edward Hernandez

Attorney EDWARD HERNANDEZ , a native El Pasoan, was born in El Paso’s Segundo Barrio and raised in the San Juan Barrio.  After attending Jefferson High School and graduating from Burges High School, he left El Paso when he enlisted in the United States Navy.  Edward served honorably in the Navy for six years and then returned to El Paso to attend the University of Texas at El Paso.  At UTEP Edward majored in Philosophy and minored in Russian Language.  He graduated from UTEP with High Honors, also being named a Top Ten Senior and a Man of Mines.  Edward spent the year following his college graduation in Washington D.C. as a Congressional Fellow funded by the Ford Foundation through with the Congressional Hispanic Caucus Institute.  He went on to attend law school at Yale University in New Haven Connecticut.  After graduating from Yale Law School, Edward returned to El Paso. Edward worked for two private firms and for the El Paso Legal Assistance Society before forming the firm of Hernandez & Hernandez together with his wife Maria in 2003.
