Ashley Spencer

Ashley Spencer is a founding attorney with Spencer Trial Attorneys, P.C. in El Paso, Texas. Her practice focuses on estate planning, probate, and guardianship, where she helps individuals and families plan for the future, administer estates, and address the legal responsibilities that arise when a loved one can no longer manage personal or financial affairs independently.

A native El Pasoan, Ashley earned her undergraduate degree from the University of Texas at El Paso before beginning her professional career in the medical field. She worked as a Certified Clinical Laboratory Scientist with The Hospitals of Providence in El Paso before pursuing a legal career. Her scientific and clinical background developed the careful, methodical approach she brings to legal planning and problem-solving, particularly in matters involving incapacity, health-related decision-making, and family responsibilities.

Ashley earned her J.D. from Thurgood Marshall School of Law in 2017. While in law school, she served as a teaching assistant, completed the program in approximately two and one-half years, and graduated summa cum laude. She became licensed to practice law in Texas in 2018.

Today, Ashley concentrates her practice on legal issues that often affect families at significant points in their lives. In her estate-planning practice, she assists clients with wills, trusts, powers of attorney, advance planning, and related matters designed to protect their wishes and provide greater clarity for their families. Her probate work includes assisting families with estate administration and the legal process that follows the death of a loved one.

Ashley also maintains an active guardianship practice. She serves as guardianship attorney for Project Amistad in El Paso, an organization that provides guardianship services for incapacitated individuals in El Paso and West Texas. Through this work, Ashley has substantial experience with the legal and practical issues that arise in guardianship matters and with the responsibilities involved in protecting individuals who cannot independently manage their personal or financial affairs.

Ashley has received professional recognition for her estate-planning work, including the 2022 Litigator of the Year for Estate Planning from the American Institute of Trial Lawyers and a 2023 Top 100 recognition for Estate Planning. She practices with Spencer Trial Attorneys, P.C., which was recognized by BusinessRate as the Best of 2026 – West Central El Paso Estate Planning Attorney.
