Roberto Arturo Chavez

Associate attorney whose practice focuses on real estate, international trade and cross-border business, Mexico law, and corporate and securities. He works closely with clients in small-business  and entity formation.

Since joining ScottHulse, Mr. Chavez has worked with clients to form commercial enterprises such as retail businesses, food and beverage groups, and investment groups. Mr. Chavez’s transactional real estate law practice has focused on residential and commercial real estate purchases and sales and leasing transactions. Fluent in both English and Spanish, many of his clients are Mexican citizens with business ventures in the United States. Mr. Chavez also works closely with clients after the formation of their businesses or entities, advising them on day-to-day operations and negotiating on their behalf.

Mr. Chavez earned his Doctor of Jurisprudence degree at The University of Texas at Austin School of Law. During law school, Mr. Chavez interned with U.S. District Judge Philip Martinez in the Western District of Texas. Mr. Chavez was an active member of the Hispanic Law School Association and during his first year assisted in drafting an Amicus Brief to the International Court of Human Rights in Costa Rica. He was the recipient of the 2010-2011 MALDEF Law School Scholarship. Mr. Chavez also interned in-house and worked closely with several start-up companies in Austin, Texas before joining ScottHulse.

A native El Pasoan, Mr. Chavez attended The University of Texas at El Paso, where he earned his Bachelor of Business Administration degree in Economics and International Business. He also studied Economics abroad in Antwerp, Belgium. Mr. Chavez is a graduate of the UTEP Law School Preparation Institute.

Regarding community engagement, Mr. Chavez is a member of the El Paso Bar Association, the El Paso Young Lawyers Association, graduate of Leadership El Paso Class XXXVI, and currently serves on the board of directors of CreativeKids.
