Matthew Ross Malone

Matt Malone is a fearless trial lawyer with almost twenty years of litigation experience He recently joined the Loncar Associates law firm, where his wife, Valeri Malone, had practiced for several years. Together they make a powerful team. They are proud Texas Tech Red Raiders and are proud to be part of the Lubbock, Texas community.

Mr. Malone is originally from Vernon, Texas, and he comes from a long line of farmers and hard-working ranchers. His family has strong ties to the Waggoner Ranch, where he, his father, and his grandfather worked and acquired their strong work ethic. His father, Don Malone, is also a lawyer with a successful law practice, and his grandfather, the late Ross Malone, was a Texas Ranger and the game warden for Waggoner Ranch.

Mr. Malone received a bachelor’s degree from Texas Tech University in agricultural economics. While at Texas Tech University, Mr. Malone was a member of the Kappa Alpha Order fraternity, in which he served as an officer. He was Student of the Year for the Agriculture College. He then attended law school at Texas Wesleyan University for two years, where he served as President of Tarrant County Young Lawyers Association. However, he soon realized he missed Lubbock and returned to Texas Tech to finish his last year of law school.

His legal career is expansive, having practiced contract disputes for governmental entities and for private parties, tax appraisal disputes, insurance claims, bad faith claims, and commercial business litigation in a variety areas of business. His clients have included school districts, housing districts, large ranches, and construction companies. He brings diverse legal experience to the Loncar team and a proven track record of success for clients.
