Subsequently, he obtained a Master of Business Administration in Energy Finance and Real Estate Development in 2011 from Southern Methodist University, Cox School of Business. He also earned his law degree from Southern Methodist University, Dedman School of Law in 2011.

Brian has been selected by his peers for inclusion in Texas Super Lawyers Rising Stars, Energy & Natural Resources, every year since 2017. He is a member of the State Bar of Texas, Texas Bar College, and Texas Bar Foundation. He is also a member of the Panhandle Association of Petroleum Landmen and Panhandle Producers and Royalty Owners Association. He previously served as an Executive Board Member of the Amarillo Area Bar Association Young Lawyers Division.
