About Terry
Biography
Terry Garrett advises people in Central Texas who are preparing for and enjoying the retirement years, families who are caring for elders and members with special needs, and people who are probating and settling estates.
Terry Garrett graduated from Cornell University with honors, was on the Dean's List at Wharton Business School and earned her J.D. from Columbia University, where she received the Parker Award and a Mellon Fellowship.
She is an Approved Guardianship Attorney and appointed by Central Texas courts in heirship proceedings. She is a member of the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys and active in the Texas and Austin Bar Associations.
She handles pro bono cases for Volunteer Legal Services, the Austin Bar Association and the Women's Resource Fair. Mother of a daughter with special needs, she also teaches for the National Alliance on Mental Illness.
In her free time she enjoys studying dance and going for long walks in beautiful Central Texas.
Her legal assistant, Melanie Ibarra, is a native Spanish speaker.
