Megan is a graduate of the University of Texas at Austin and Baylor Law School. She is board certified in criminal law and criminal appellate law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization. In addition to her Texas license, Megan is admitted to practice in all federal district courts in the Western District of Texas.
Before moving to Austin, Megan cut her teeth as a trial and appellate attorney in Granbury, Texas, a small town outside of Fort Worth. Working in a rural community allowed Megan the opportunity to try a wide variety of criminal cases. After a case finished at the trial court, Megan was often asked to handle the matter on appeal. As a result, she has served as lead counsel in over 50 criminal appeals and argued before the court of appeals on numerous occasions. Many of Megan’s arguments have been adopted by the appellate courts and are now law.
In sum, Megan understands the entire criminal justice system, from trial to appeal, and her direct and comprehensive style has won her the trust of clients and judges alike. She is passionate about giving her clients good advice, executing successful trial strategies, and persuading appellate courts to adopt new constitutional arguments.
