I would not recommend this firm! They burned through $5,356.62 without doing much at all. My 17 year old daughter needed help with filing child custody paperwork. While I understand that Texas law considers a 17 year old as an adult in this case, the firm didn't even send me the billing statement...s, although they knew I was financially responsible. They insisted on sending everything to my kid. Also, instead of listening to my daughter and trying to help her get what she needed, they kept trying to push her into just accepting a standard agreement (aka a template they just have to fill in a few details on). I know this, because I sat silently on several of the calls they had with my child and the lawyer wouldn't even shut up long enough to let my daughter talk. If all of that wasn't bad enough, I ended up making all of the updates to the legal documents myself, so that my daughter and her child were taken care of. But, wait, there's more! The legal documents the law firm sent over were riddled with errors such as misspellings and sections that had obviously been copied and then pasted into sections completely out of context where the verbage didn't even make sense. (Yes I had to clean all of that up myself too.) At the end of it all the law firm made very few edits and just accepted all of the many changes and corrections I had done myself. Highway robbery is how I would describe my experience with Deyerle Silva Smith, PLLC.

My experience with my divorce was not that bad. It was not a typical divorce. It was very amicable. But I am the exception to the rule.
