Daniel N. Matheson III

Dan began his career at a major Dallas firm in 1974, and moved to Austin in 1982. His almost 40 years of practice have been largely focused on representing business entities, entrepreneurs, and investors in a wide array of corporate and business transactions, including merger and acquisition transactions and equity and debt financing transactions. His experience spans several business sectors, both public and private, and includes serving as general counsel of an Austin-based telecommunications company that developed markets in Mexico and Central America. Before co-founding the firm in 2007, Dan was a partner/shareholder in three of Texas’ most prominent law firms. Long active in community and civic affairs, Dan has served on numerous government and charitable boards, including service as Chairman of the Board of Regents of the Texas State University System, Director of the Texas Office of State-Federal Relations, and Chairman of the Board of Mental Health America of Texas, Make-A-Wish Foundation of Central and South Texas, Texas Lyceum Association, and The First Tee of Greater Austin. He is an alumnus of The University of Texas at Austin and The University of Texas Law School where he graduated with honors and served as an editor of The Texas Law Review.
