Limited knowledge and least helpful if not sabotaging.

High Fee: 150 for an hour consultation. I don't mind to pay money but I do mind when I wasted the money. Information that provided: He didn't give me any constructive information. If you have the Internet, you can save yourself 150 bucks. Just remember to go to the government's websites. Expe...rience and background: I asked him to meet at his office. He refused and we met in a coffee shop. I asked him did he has any experiences he said he did hundreds of immigration cases, which I found untruthful based on how little he knows about visas for people who have Masters degree and so on. I asked him for his licensure information and maybe a little background info. He didn't provide. Knowledge: I told him my situation he said there is no way to help me stay in America unless I found another company (in couple months). I asked him if there any other alternatives. He said no. I asked him about marriage (the only reason I asked was because my boyfriend and I were considering getting married at the time. Now we are happily married. He is not US citizen either). He said yes, it could be a way, "if that a true marriage". I was shocked even though I didn't show. I found that insulting. I think that's very rude and unprofessional. Whole experience: After talking to him, I felt very sad and hopeless. I talked to my friends and they all suggested me to find a different lawyer which I did. I am glad I did. The other la I have found a different lawyer and employees and they provided me many different options and they have a very reasonable charge scale. Actual office, licenses on the wall, 13 years of experience, resourceful and very kind and patient. The best thing was after we worked together, we were in touch for awhile just so they know how I was doing. I had asked many questions through email and no charge. This is just my experience. I hope my review doesn't have any unfair bias. Whoever is reading this, good luck with your process and don't let go of hope and love even when "the worst" has happened.

Our Rating is calculated using information the lawyer has included on their profile in addition to the information we collect from state bar associations and other organizations that license legal professionals. Attorneys who claim their profiles and provide Avvo with more information tend to have a higher rating than those who do not.

What determines Avvo Rating?
  • Experience & background Years licensed, work experience, education
  • Legal community recognition Peer endorsements, associations, awards
  • Legal thought leadership Publications, speaking engagements
  • Discipline Disciplinary information may not be comprehensive, or updated. We recommend that you always check a lawyer's disciplinary status with their respective state bar association before hiring them.
