Beware

Gordon did our divorce earlier this year. We got his name from a list maintained by the Federal agency that employs my ex-husband. He lost vital paperwork ( and told my ex-husband as much; we are still trying to finish some of it), did not return phone calls, and had to redo court orders several ti...mes because he or his staff kept getting details wrong. This delayed my settlement. He constantly bragged to us about how long he had been doing similar divorces, yet I seemed to know more about the procedures than him. His paralegals never seemed to last more than a few weeks; over the several months we worked with him, he went through at least four.

Professional misconduct

This lawyer was disciplined by a state licensing authority in 2013.

Resignation in Lieu of Discipline issued in TX, 2013

updated on 02/15/2016

This means the attorney resigned in order to avoid being disbarred. "Disbarment" is the most serious penalty for a lawyer.

Partially Probated Suspension issued in TX, 2012

updated on 04/27/2012

Partially Probated Suspension means an attorney lost his or her license to practice law for a period of time. When the attorney returns to practice, he or she will be on probation, meaning the State monitors the attorney's activities for a period of time in hopes that he or she will not repeat the behavior.

Avvo Rating

Our Rating is calculated using information the lawyer has included on their profile in addition to the information we collect from state bar associations and other organizations that license legal professionals. Attorneys who claim their profiles and provide Avvo with more information tend to have a higher rating than those who do not.
