Incredibly Unresponsive and Unprofessional in H1B Application

In early April 2021, my H1B lottery was selected and Mr. Kevin's firm, FisherBroyles, was consigned by my company to handle my case, meaning applying for the H1B visa for me. I was told by Andrea Reyes, the Legal Assistant to Kevin Lashus then, that if anything was missing or incorrect in my material...s, they would contact me. The notice mentioned clearly that my H-1B petition should be filed between 04/01/2021 and 06/30/2021. My company and I have not heard anything from them. Then I started to follow up on 07/27/2021. Since then, I had sent 5 emails, and my HR had sent 4 emails until we finally heard from Mr. Kevin on 10/29/2021. He wrote :"This is on me xxxxx(my HR's name). I’ll get it to you Monday. I’m out tomorrow." Then, no updates at all even if I sent 3 emails and my HR sent 4 emails. On 01/11/2022, my HR told me he finally scheduled a call with Kevin to discuss this in detail. Kevin kept telling my company that everything was fine and under control, and he was just too busy to send my stuff to me. In early June 2022, because my STEM OPT was about to expire, I finally pushed harder to try to get my visa. I have sent emails, called FisherBroyles' office, called Kevin's personal number that he left on his website (https://www.fisherbroyles.com/people/kevin-lashus), and no responses at all. Until I finally CCed every related email I could think of, including all my managers and HRs and FisherBroyles' information and immigration emails, Kevin finally started to reply. At that time, he still said everything was good, and he finally admitted that his team didn't successfully submit my case because they sent out an underfunded check. Then he incorrectly suggested that it could be easily fixed as long as we still submit the application this year. Because he totally ignored the valid period noted in the notice (04/01/2021 to 06/30/2021), I sent multiple emails to ask for clarity and Kevin did not answer to the question even once. Therefore I started to consult other lawyers, which I should have done much earlier, and all lawyers or lawyer groups I have consulted told me that what Kevin proposed would not work out at all. In the end, I sent an email telling Kevin the information I found, and I was hoping for a collaborative discussion to solve problems. He then replied with a very harsh email, saying things like "you should not look for information on your own", "you are in our way", "your company would like to pay us to submit another application for you this year, do you want or not?", etc. His assistant then followed with a pricing list asking for thousands of dollars that they had not mentioned earlier at all...... My company and I had no other choice but to find a more professional and reliable law firm to advise us. Now I am already outside of US and applying for Canadian working visa as a workaround. But it is still very scary to imagine that had I never questioned Kevin, I would have already violated the immigration law of the US by illegally working for 4 months and overstaying for 2 months. During that period of time, as long as Kevin was a little bit more responsive, or a little bit more transparent, or a little bit more responsible, or a little bit more professional, my employer and I would have more than enough time to prepare and fix the first mistake Kevin's team made. Like we could get into the lottery again in 2022, or we could prepare for relocating me to Canada much earlier, etc. Yet, Kevin's unprofessionalism forced me outside of US unexpectedly for already 2 months, and I'm not sure how many to come, and all these dramas also have cost my employer many resources in terms of money and time. In a nutshell, based on my experience with Kevin, he is a lawyer who is unprofessional and unresponsive, and he is a master at providing unlawful suggestions rather than proactively facing mistakes and solving problems.
