Joseph Kent Deeb

Joseph Deeb is an Austin criminal defense lawyer and Senior Trial Attorney at Michael & Associates Criminal Defense Attorneys who brings more than a decade of prosecutorial experience to his criminal defense practice. Having spent years handling both felony and misdemeanor cases throughout Central Texas, Mr. Deeb possesses a comprehensive understanding of how criminal cases are investigated, charged, negotiated, and tried. His experience on the prosecution side provides valuable insight into how the State evaluates evidence, develops trial strategy, and pursues convictions.

Before transitioning to criminal defense, Mr. Deeb served as a prosecutor with the Travis County District Attorney's Office, the Travis County Attorney's Office, and the City of Cedar Park. In these roles, he handled a broad range of criminal matters, prosecuting both felony and misdemeanor offenses and gaining extensive courtroom experience in some of the region's busiest criminal courts. Today, Mr. Deeb applies the knowledge he gained as a prosecutor to identify weaknesses in the State's case, challenge evidence, and develop strategic defenses for individuals facing criminal charges.

Mr. Deeb's felony experience includes cases involving aggravated assault, intoxication manslaughter, intoxication assault, sexual assault, drug offenses, unlawful firearm possession, and other serious criminal allegations. He also developed substantial experience prosecuting driving while intoxicated (DWI) cases, including both blood-test and breath-test prosecutions.

Since joining Michael & Associates, Mr. Deeb has personally represented clients in more than 780 criminal matters, ranging from DWI and assault allegations to complex felony prosecutions. This substantial case experience, combined with his extensive prosecutorial background, has provided him with deep familiarity with Texas criminal courts, local prosecutors, and the practical challenges individuals face when navigating the criminal justice system.
