About Jeremy

Biography

I'm a former prosecutor with over 20 years of experience in central Texas courtrooms. I've handled mostly major crimes at the felony level and now leverage that experience for my clients.

There is always another side to the story that's being told by law enforcement. Don't put yourself in the position of telling that story without first speaking with an experienced attorney. Be smart and talk to someone who has seen a situation like this before.

Being charged with a violent crime is a heavy and overwhelming experience. I will help you navigate your situation and find the best path forward.

Great attorney!! Highly recommend!!

I highly recommend Jeremy Sylestine with Cofer & Connelly to anyone in need of a dedicated and compassionate legal advocate and attorney! From our very first conversation, he was kind, communicative, and genuinely invested in helping me through a difficult time. He kept me informed at every step, e...xplained things clearly, and always took the time to answer my questions. What truly stood out was his ability to negotiate a fair and reasonable outcome with the District Attorney’s office. His professionalism, knowledge of the law, and steady approach gave me confidence and peace of mind throughout the process. I am incredibly grateful for his support and would not hesitate to recommend him to friends, family, or anyone looking for a trustworthy attorney who truly cares.

Excellent lawyer during most stressful period of my life

I was facing a charge of "assault - family violence" during an extremely stressful period of my life. Jeremy was empathetic, confident and professional. He was upfront about the "knowns" and "unknowns", and it was clear he was speaking from experience and wisdom. Jeremy was accommodating and creative... when I had to move to another state. Jeremy delivered results, and my case was dismissed within the timeframe he predicted.

Ally in a Tough System

Jeremy and the team at Cofer & Connelly were a godsend at an incredibly challenging time. I was facing legal consequences related to experiences of victimization. Anyone who’s been through this sort of thing will know how vulnerable it feels—the system can be terrifying and isolating to handle on you...r own. From our first conversation I could tell that he was acutely assessing the context of my case with the view of a prosecutor, while also pivoting to compassion as necessary. Jeremy even made a point to personally call during a high-stress time just to make sure I was personally doing okay. It was a financial risk for me to seek legal counsel, but I am incredibly glad I did. In my case, it means I will be able to continue pursuing my lifetime dreams in the wake of a harrowing experience. I would recommend him to anyone in a similar position or predicament. You don’t have to do these things alone!

Felony charge

In our search for a law firm to handle my son’s case, we were looking for sensitivities to clients with mental health issues. Jeremy navigated this tough issue exceptionally well with the final result our son was exonerated and all charges dropped.
