A background check revealed an outstanding summons for a juvenile probation violation. However, my client had been earlier released from the probation, rendering the summons invalid.

OUTCOME: Motion to suppress was denied at the trial level. However, on appeal, the Third Court of Appeals ruled that the detention of my client was unreasonably extended. This led to the suppression of the evidence and dismissal of the case.

My client was stopped for speeding. She was wearing pants and a bra, and did not have her driver's license with her. However, she had her registration and insurance, and promptly identified herself. Th ... e stopping officer deemed her behavior suspicious, and held her until a drug dog could arrive. The dog "detected" the odor of drugs. Upon searching the car, the officers procured exactly 0 grams of marijuana, but did find a switchblade knife.
