Poor Experience and Lack of Accountability

Unfortunately, my experience with Attorney James Haecker was extremely disappointing and frustrating. From the beginning, there were significant issues with organization, responsiveness, and professional accountability. Throughout the real estate transaction, he repeatedly failed to review documen...ts carefully, fought for terms that were irrelevant or nonexistent, and made the process far more complicated than it needed to be. These missteps not only delayed progress but also added unnecessary conflict—and all at my expense. He billed for time spent on matters that were irrelevant or created by his own oversights, which felt more like a strategy to extend billable hours than to effectively advocate for his client. Communication was another major issue. Reaching him in a timely manner was consistently difficult, and there was little transparency or responsiveness when I raised concerns. Shockingly, when the seller’s attorney questioned his handling of the case and the delays caused, he chose to withdraw without offering any explanation or resolution—jeopardizing the outcome of my transaction. In one meeting, he stated that he had “thick skin,” which became evident not as a mark of professionalism, but as an indication that he was indifferent to feedback or consequences. Sadly, this reflected a lack of care and engagement with my case. Having worked with attorneys across other areas of law, this was by far my worst experience. Drafting and correcting a standard Purchase Agreement took him far longer than expected, and the final work product lacked the quality I would expect from a competent real estate attorney. In my opinion, his inefficiency directly benefits him financially at the client’s expense. I do not recommend working with James Haecker for any real estate matters. If you value timely service, competent legal writing, and a lawyer who genuinely advocates for your interests—look elsewhere.
