Mary Dickson Newnam

Dixie focuses her practice on individuals, couples, families, and small to medium sized businesses. With over a decade of estate planning, probate, and business experience, Dixie's attention to detail and strategic analysis skills provides clients with thoroughly and thoughtfully considered solutions to their legal needs. She understands that no two clients, matters, or situations are ever the same, and works to find efficient solutions that are specific to the client. This means that her clients get more from her than just the filling out of a form with their information. They get personal meetings at which Dixie listens to their concerns and explains the various options available, documents and analysis tailored to them and their particular needs, and continued availability for questions after the initial work is completed.

Dixie earned her Bachelor of Arts degree from Baylor University in 1997, graduating cum laude with a major in telecommunications and a minor in business administration with an emphasis in accounting. In 2002, she earned her Juris Doctorate, with honors, from the University of Texas at Austin. She started her legal career at Haynes and Boone LLP, in its commercial litigation section, and practiced there until she started Newnam Land PLLC in 2007.

Dixie is licensed in both Texas and Colorado. She is a current member of the Texas Bar Association and belongs to its Business Law and Real Estate, Probate, and Trust Law sections. She is also a Texas and Colorado Bar Foundation Fellow. As a former member of the Colorado Bar Association, she held positions on the following Bar committees and boards: Executive Director Search Committee (2014), Joint Management Committee (2010-2014), Joint Budget Committee (2008-2010), and Board of Governors (2007-2009). She was also a member of the Colorado Judicial Performance Committee for the 3rd Judicial District (2011-2015).

When not working on legal matters, Dixie enjoys practicing yoga, walking, and lifting weights and volunteering for various local organizations like her church and Wimberley Valley Radio (KWVH)—where she co-hosts a weekly radio program that looks for genius in rural areas. ​

Dixie is married to Robert Land, her life and law partner. They have two vibrant children, of whom they are incredibly proud, two dogs (one of which thinks he's a cat), and a real cat who rules the house.
