Velma Garza Anderson

I am  a native of South Texas, having been born in Corpus Christi, Texas, but relocated to McAllen, Texas when I was a year old. I was the valedictorian of McAllen High School and a National Merit Scholar. I graduated from Trinity University with a degree in Engineering Science. I began my practice at Atlas & Hall, LLP (now Atlas, Hall & Rodriguez, LLP) in 1986, after receiving my J.D. from the University of Texas Law School.

I have experience representing clients in real estate, banking and corporate matters. My representative clients include financial institutions, beer distributors, and real estate developers.

I served as a member of the Board of Directors of Planned Parenthood Association of Hidalgo County, Texas, Inc. for six years, the last two years as Chair. I am actively involved with my church, Oak Hill United Methodist Church in Austin, where I am a member of the Chancel Choir.
