Estate Planning 60%

There are a myriad of legal strategies you might consider implementing as you design your estate plan. Regardless, there are a handful of "must have" estate planning documents you must create before anything else. Will, Health Care Directive, Power of Attorney, Trusts.

Elder Law 20%

Generally speaking, Elder Law can be defined as the holistic application of general legal principles to the specific emotional, logistical and financial needs of mature Americans. You may not be willing to admit that you may become incapacitated and perhaps need expensive long-term care in the future. However, denial is not a strategy and there is no time like the present to plan.

Estate Planning and Elder Law.

I can't say enough good things about Attorney John Lane. He has helped me every step of the way in handling my recently deceased husband's will and with the creation of a new will for myself and my end of life planning. He has been a truly caring and compassionate person. I didn't know what to d...o and he guided and advised me on various options. He listens to you and allows you to make decisions with confidence. I would highly recommend him to anyone that needs estate planning made simple. He has a through knowledge of the law and can give a lay person simplified solutions in these matters.

John Lane is the BEST Estate Planning Attorney

I consider John Lane a true blessing. I attended one of his Estate Planning seminars and quickly learned how unprepared I was as a single woman. And not just me...but my entire family. I was raised in a typical-Hispanic household in a small, Texas border town, where the man, in this case my Father..., was the sole provider and Mom stayed home to raise the kids, cook, clean, etc. Money was tight for a family of six, but my parents made it work. They had little in savings and limited assets. Fast forward twenty years...the parents are much older and the roles have been reversed. It is now time for us kids to look after them. And I forgot to mention that my parents still live in this small border town along with my older sister who is handicapped/disabled. After the seminar with John, and speaking to him privately, I made it a priority to get their Estate Planning in order, not just for their sake, but for the sake of my disabled sister. You think of "estate planning" and automatically associate this with being rich. Well, not the case. Estate Planning is simply a way to spell out your needs/wishes, legally, so that you don't burden your loved ones with the aftermath once you are no longer here. Leaving these difficult decisions to your kids or other relatives can often times tear families apart. In my family's case, it was important to determine what we, as the children, needed to do to honor our parents' wishes. Who would take care of my disabled sister? Who gets their house? Who gets the money in the bank (not much, by the way)? John met with my parents, at my home in Austin. He jotted down everything they desired. It was a very difficult discussion because no one wants to think or talk about death and leaving your loved ones behind. But after meeting with John, my parents felt extremely satisfied, and more at ease, that this happened and they were pressing forward with getting the legal documents in place. John, in no time, drafted everything up, met with my parents again to obtain signatures, and processed everything. I now have their Estate Planning binder in my possession and we are all at ease knowing that we are prepared. We have a plan, especially for my disabled sister. I also finalized my personal Estate Planning with John at the same time as my parents'. I consider John a true blessing and now a dear friend. I would highly recommend him. He is a very professional individual that genuinely cares about his clients. He provides superior customer service by being responsive, and simply going above and beyond. You will not be disappointed.
