Connie is a SSDI lawyer, and she picked up my case in the middle of an appeal I was trying to fast track after my original rep failed to keep communications open. Being that I had a lot riding on my case, to include near homelessness, I was soooo tired of hearing lawyers tell me "Oh you're too young... there's no way you'll win." Connie mentioned that same possibility in the beginning but at least she was willing to try for a closed period of SSDI which, for me, equalled better than nothing, so I decided to give her a shot. Well! As the evidence to support my dysfunction even at such a young age started coming across her desk, she never kept harping on my age/making it sound like the case was a waste of her time (like the other lawyers I'd interviewed had done). Ffwd to court date; not only did she represent me well enough that I didn't need a witness to be embarrassed by, but the judge gave me a bench decision right away, fully favorable, and it only took 60ish days from court date to start getting payments which now assure me I will not wind up in the streets. I would hight recommend Connie again and again; lawyers may not be there to be your friend and get emotional with you, but I really love how she balanced her "let me do my job for ya" demeanor alongside not making me feel either like a performing robot for the judge, OR like there was no hope in hell prior to even seeing the judge.
