He has to be processed out, but that won't take too long. A person is not penalized for filing a motion for shock probation so more time will not...

It's like any other probation. The "shock" part is the part where you are in prison.

You have to apply before 6 months and yes, you should hire a lawyer who has done one before. All lawyers are licensed to do one so its up to you
