Cynthia A. Maldonado

Cynthia A. Maldonado is a dedicated attorney at the Law Office of Bryan Fagan, bringing over two decades of experience in family law and criminal prosecution. Originally from the Rio Grande Valley, she developed a passion for the law while studying at Baylor University, where she earned a B.A. in Political Science with a minor in Spanish. She later obtained her Juris Doctor from Southern Methodist University.

Cynthia’s legal journey began as a third-year law student, handling her first divorce case and interning with the Dallas County District Attorney’s Office, where she assisted with protective orders. She later served as a prosecutor in Cameron and Bexar counties, specializing in domestic violence and child abuse cases. Notably, she co-authored a Violence Against Women Act (VAWA) grant, securing funding for Brownsville’s first-ever domestic violence unit.

Beyond her legal career, Cynthia is deeply involved in her community. She has served as a CASA advocate and Girl Scout troop leader, demonstrating her commitment to supporting children and families. A devoted wife and mother, she enjoys coaching her daughter’s basketball team, hiking, and traveling with her family. Passionate about education, democracy, and service, she actively volunteers for political campaigns and hopes to become board certified in family law while expanding her expertise into estate planning and probate.
