Bertha Alicia Zuniga

I had no idea where to start when my husband was detained by immigration. I contacted an attorney in our hometown, Waco, and the only name she gave me was Bertha Zuniga. My brother was arrested April 3rd, 2017. I paid the bond at the county jail where he was arrested however, because there was an immigration hold, he wasn’t able to be released. They transferred him from the county jail to the South Texas Detention Complex in Pearsall in less than a week after I had ...paid the bond. Everything happened so fast. In act of desperation, I consulted and hired the 1st immigration attorney I encountered to represent my brother. I wish I would’ve done more research on the lawyer. It would’ve probably taken less however, there was a week that I had to leave the country and she was unable to get more information from me. On Thursday August 10th, on my brother’s final court hearing, the judge granted a pardon and cancellation for deportation. My brother gets to stay here in the U.S and remain a Texas resident!
