My brother was arrested April 3rd, 2017. I paid the bond at the county jail where he was arrested however, because there was an immigration hold, he wasn’t able to be released. They transferred him from the county jail to the South Texas Detention Complex in Pearsall in less than a week after I had ...paid the bond. Everything happened so fast. In act of desperation, I consulted and hired the 1st immigration attorney I encountered to represent my brother. I wish I would’ve done more research on the lawyer. He seemed trustworthy and he didn’t charge “an arm and a leg” for the case so I went ahead with him. Unfortunately, for about two months, this attorney did ABSOLUTELY NOTHING for my brother. He was unprepared and rescheduled my brother’s court date twice to buy him some more time. He even told me that he had contacted my brother’s employer for a letter of recommendation however, I caught him in a lie. I called his employer and he told me that he hadn’t been contacted, NOT EVEN ONCE, by my brother’s attorney and at that time that attorney had already been on the case for 2 months. I took the attorney off the case immediately. My brother was discouraged and depressed so then, he mentioned to me about attorney Bertha Zuniga as an option. Zuniga’s contract services for the case were definitely more expensive than the first attorney however, every dollar was worth it to gain my brother’s release. Zuniga worked relentlessly to get a pardon for two crimes of moral turpitude that my brother had committed in the past so that he wouldn’t get deported to Mexico. Originally, my brother’s court date was set on August 17th however, she convinced the judge to move it up earlier to August 10th. Attorney Zuniga understands the importance of getting a family member back to their family and incorporated back into the community. This is her priority. It took less than 2 & 1/2 months from the day I consulted with her to the day my brother was released. It would’ve probably taken less however, there was a week that I had to leave the country and she was unable to get more information from me. On Thursday August 10th, on my brother’s final court hearing, the judge granted a pardon and cancellation for deportation. My brother gets to stay here in the U.S and remain a Texas resident! He can continue to pursue his American Dream. Thank you God for putting Attorney Zuniga in our path to help us get our family member back. Ms. Zuniga is very proactive, professional and on top of her game. If she says that she’s 99.9% sure she can win the case, she means it! Do not waste your time, money and energy looking for other attorneys. She’s the best in immigration and has so many years of experience in these types of matters. I have so much faith and trust in this attorney that our family is considering hiring her for other immigration matters concerning other family members. Ms. Zuniga is non-stop, 7 day a week working attorney. She made me feel confident from day one that she was the attorney that could make the difference. I had spoken to other attorneys that were willing to drain my bank account but not offering to fight for us. Pretty much they offered to send their ...assistant to the detention facility to speak to my husband and gather the information and then the attorney would show up to court to represent my husband. How impersonal is that, he would never have met my husband himself or ever see where the detainees are forced to live or recognize how they suffer. These people all have a story, a struggle as to why they choose to leave their parents, loved ones, all they have ever known and risk it all for a chance at a better, safer, more meaningful life on a dangerous journey to the USA. The fees were rediculous; instead of feeling like yeah we could win this case, I was thinking of ways to come up with this money. Never going to happen. Well my husband called me with the phone number of Bertha Zuniga. I googled and read about her life, work, and achievements. I found hope and I called her and set up a consultation. It's when I met her and she spoke of her fighting for my husband, and her giving it her all at an attainable price; and she would not charge extra each time she would go out to the detention facility to speak to my husband personally, that I had faith. She is still by our side and is now helping us to get his residency. I have so much faith in Ms. Zuniga. She truly will make you feel like she is fighting for you as if you were family.

Mrs. Zuniga has a very kind professional attitude, that's full of compassion, she was always prompt with answering all my questions and concerns. We hired Mrs. Zuniga for my brothers case. In December 12 2015 I was detained by ice n sent to a immigration detention I hired a lawyer since I didn't know what was happening immigration came and pic me up from home. That lawyer never went to see me just took money from my family while in their I heard about ms zuniga n all her cases I immedi...ately told my family about her they called her n next day she went to visit me. I was lost everyone told me I was goin to get deported I had a Bby on the way a great job n never been away from my family all my life lived in the US.
