I know exactly who this is and I am so sorry that they feel this way. I got custody of a child for great grandparents which is a rare occurrence in the family law arena. They had standing issues regarding whether they even could file a case. This case was highly disputed and contentious from the beginning. One contested hearing alone lasted into the evening and required more than 8 hours of my time. Unfortunately, for these clients, when a mother begins to do better the court gives her an opportunity to redeem herself. I am not ashamed of the work I did on this extremely difficult and contentious case. I am sorry that the client did not like the court's ruling but they were there with me every step of the way and I deny that they did not know what was happening in the case. I can be difficult to get in touch with because I litigate a lot and that means I am in court nearly every day. However, each client is given a card with my email address and cell phone number. I wish these people the very best. They are in a bad situation and trying to protect their great grandchild. I am proud that I gave them the initial opportunity to do that by litigating them into the position of being recognized by the court to even file pleadings and then winning them temporary custody of their great grandchild at their advanced ages. They are in my prayers as is their great grandchild that the result they seek is the one that is in the best interest of the child.
