Amber Cristina Macias

Ms. Macias is licensed to practice law in the State of Texas.  She received her law degree from St. Mary’s University, and prior to that her Bachelor of Arts (English Literature) from Texas A&M University in 2000.

Before receiving her law degree, Ms. Macias was an insurance adjuster at Progressive for close to 14 years.  During that time, she spent a great deal of time as a Lead Claims Specialist, handling high value and complex claims including commercial, fatality, serious injuries.  As a Lead Claims Specialist she was responsible for handling claims all the way through the litigation process.  This work was her stepping stone to making the decision to apply to law school.  She gained a positive working relationship with several attorneys throughout South Texas on both the defense and plaintiff side.  Ms. Macias believes this gave her unique perspective to seeing a personal injury case from both sides, giving her a unique ability to represent plaintiffs in serious claims.

While working full-time at Progressive, Ms. Macias attended St. Mary’s University.  During her last year of school, she was a student attorney in the St. Mary’s Center for Legal and Social Justice.  Ms. Macias practiced criminal defense under the supervision of her professors.  This was a positive experience as she gained some comfort in the court room and advocate on behalf of low income clients.  She also had the opportunity to experience the appeal process while working on a writ for habeas corpus.

Ms. Macias was born in El Paso, Texas and grew up outside of Corpus Christi, Texas.  She is a single mom to two girls: Jaeden (9) Londyn (3).  The three of them love to spend time with family, eat out and laugh with each other.  They are the reason Ms. Macias works so hard and she strives to be a good role model for them.

Ms. Macias’ inspiration is her stepfather—himself a successful criminal defense attorney currently practicing in Comal County.
