Biography
Our firm has been helping people and businesses since 1982. I grew up in San Angelo, Texas and played on a tennis scholarship at West Texas State University. After graduating from Texas Tech Law School, I worked at a tax lawyer for Peat Marwick Mitchell in Dallas, passing the CPA exam in 1983. After working as a tax lawyer for two years, I moved to Bryan and started a firm with Ernie Bruchez and have been engaged in civil trial law since June 1982.
In 1992 I was elected by the lawyers in our area to serve on the Board of Directors of the State Bar of Texas to represent our region. I chaired the legislative committee during a year that the State Bar was up for sunset and successfully helped guide the Bar through through that process. I have been Board Certified in both Civil Trial Law and Personal Injury Law for 30 years and have been honored with selections to both the American Board of Trial Advocates and the Superlawyers.
Over the years, my practice has consisted primarily of trying lawsuits in civil cases such as breach of contract, construction, condemnation, lien rights, oil and gas and consumer rights issues. Personal Injury is a specialized part of civil litigation and I have represented both plaintiffs and defendants in major trucking accidents, car wrecks, brain injury cases and liable and slander cases. I once succefully represented an industrial park against a national first amendment law firm keeping a nude bar out of the industrial park.
My clients include individuals and small businesses as well as major construction companies, major oil companies, cities, municipalities and counties. Our firm cares for each one as if is the most important case.
