Hilario Richard Hernandez

Hilario “Ricky” Hernandez is a criminal defense attorney with J.D. Silva & Associates. He has been an attorney with the firm since 2020, focusing his practice on criminal defense, assault defense, dwi defense and personal injury litigation. He has worked in the legal industry since 2017 and tried his first case in 2018.

A former resident of Houston’s Third Ward, Ricky has seen firsthand how harsh the justice system can be for those without representation. In addition to his personal injury work, he previously served as an Assistant District Attorney at the Harris County District Attorney’s office. Ricky is a trial lawyer with experience in managing and resolving litigation issues across a large case docket. He has successfully advocated for clients in Brazoria, Galveston, and other counties surrounding Houston.

Ricky graduated from The University of Houston with a Bachelor of Business Administration in Finance in 2013. He graduated as Valedictorian of his law school class from The Thurgood Marshall School of Law at Texas Southern University in 2017. Ricky was born and raised in Pearland, Texas before relocating to inner Houston for college. His small-town roots have helped him to identify with rural, suburban, and urban clients. In his spare time, he enjoys working out and is an avid golfer.
