Obi Ikeme

Obi Ikeme is the founding attorney of Ikeme Law, LLC. She is a graduate of the University of New Hampshire School of Law where she participated in the school's Immigration Law Clinic. The clinic, established in conjunction with New Hampshire Catholic Charities’Immigration and Refugee Services division allowed her to work on asylum, removal, naturalization, and family reunification cases under the supervision of Catholic Charities Attorneys. Ms. Ikeme spent her final semester of law school as a full time legal extern with the U.S. Department of Justice Office on Violence Against Women. During her time as an extern, Ms. Ikeme was involved in the VAWA reauthorization and gained substantial legislative and policy experience.

Upon graduation from law school, Ms. Ikeme was appointed as a Judicial Law Clerk in the Family Division for the New Jersey Superior Court in Newark, New Jersey. As a law clerk, Ms. Ikeme worked on several Special Immigrant Juvenile (SIJ) cases and developed a sound understanding of the SIJ eligibility requirements.

Ms. Ikeme was selected as a Presidential Management Fellow (PMF) in 2014 and completed her fellowship at the U.S. Department of Homeland Security. During her fellowship, Ms. Ikeme completed rotations at the U.S Department of Interior, U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS), and the U.S. Department of Defense.
