Almost made me prefer my ex over her

I hired Veronica Semino (FLBar # 70592) to represent me in a dissolution of marriage case. Right up to the minute I retained her she was prompt, communicative and very engaged. This quickly changed after she cashed my retainer check, what I got then was weeks of waiting for responses, scoldings for t...exting her cellphone and zero accountability. Right after I retained her, and once filings and initial paperwork were to be put together it took her 10 calendar days to even acknowledge my multiple calls, voice messages, emails and text messages, only to then scold me on how inappropriate it was for me to text her, when we had been texting prior to payment of the retainer. Later, after initial filings and after receiving opposing counsel’s response, it took her 14 calendar days to get back to me on what was to be done. After that, when the response was filed, I was not given a reasonable amount of time to review the document and it was filed with a mistaken admission that I was providing my STBEX with health insurance when I wasn’t and had told her so repeatedly in the past. This may not have been a major error of law or material in nature at the end of the day, but caused me great anxiety and concern at the time, especially since it took a dozen calls, half a dozen voicemails, two text messages, three emails, 13 calendar days and a call to the Bar Association to get a hold of her regarding this mistake which she downplayed the importance of, in addition to a giving me a half-hearted attempt to answer my questions regarding the case’s strategy, next steps, timelines, etc. In the various attempts where I mentioned any of these communication concerns, I got no response at all. All in all, the anxiety that this relationship caused me was unbearable and I sure wasn’t going to stick around and see if her legal acumen was better than her communication skills. I happily canned her and had another attorney working on my case. Retain at your own risk!

Ms. Semino represented me for my divorce

Ms. Semino handled my divorce for me quickly and effectively and she answered all my questions and concerns every step of the way. She is a great attorney, and I recommend her services to anyone that has family law issues.

Great attorney and advisor!

During the most difficult moments of my life I realized I had to hire an attorney to represent me. I was so happy when I hired Ms. Semino for my legal issues. Ms. Semino is an empathetic, passionate and aggressive family attorney. She truly understands the complexity and sensitivity of these cases, while maintaining an objective point of view. Ms. Semino is a results driven and detailed oriented professional who exhausted all resources in order to gather a...nd present valuable information for my case. She is focused and determined to obtain the most favorable outcome for her clients, and is committed to maintaining the integrity of the families involved.
