Awesome Experience

She was so helpful and made sure that I understood everything about the process along the way. I definitely would recommend her!!

Brandon - Court appointed amicus

Jessica was appointed by a judge to represent my children in a child custody modification; she was not selected by me or my ex-husband. That said, I would highly recommend her to anyone needing a good family law attorney. She was able to successfully take a very complicated court case that was off...icially in the system for over a year, but was an issue for an entire year before that, and mediate a resolution without going to trial. She was attentive and prompt to respond, as well as willing to meet during times that are outside of normal business hours. She took the time to really get to know my kids, to get to know all of the parents, examine the respective living situations, and really get to the heart of what my eleven and ten year olds needed as well as wanted. She approached the case with an open mind and took everything that was said with a grain of salt until she saw evidence on either side to corroborate a story. She advocated strictly for the kids interests, and used effective, non-judgemental communication to correct me or my ex-husband indiscriminately. During settlement meetings she was very effective at diffusing situations before they got heated and out of hand, and she was very good at developing a compromise. She also worked very well with my own attorney in terms of getting evidence and asking for clarification where it was needed. At the end of the day, both of us, as parents, were happy with some parts of the new order and unhappy with others, which I think is indicative of a good compromise. The visitation was expanded for my ex-husband so they boys have more time with him, and I was able to clear up many of the financial issues and right to designate primary residence concerns. She was also quite capable of dealing with step-parents who overstep boundaries; she is good about reinforcing the idea that the role of a step-parent is to step up and not step in. While I didn't have her as someone who was representing me personally, I can honestly say that she was accurate in her predictions about how a recommendation would pan out in a family courtroom as an amicus, and there is no doubt in my mind that she would make a fantastic attorney for a client, as well as an effective mediator. She was fantastic, truly, and I am so, so thankful that the judge appointed her.

Don’t waste your time

Worse lawyer ever!! She is the most hands off attorney I ever met.our initial consultation was great she made me feel comfortable. Once I paid the retainer fee everything changed !! I learned during my mediation by the mediator that I had trial in less than a month! Why didn’t she prep me or tell me?... We never prepped anything she never asked for evidence. The day after she dropped me as a client . She only collected money from me and left me. I got a new lawyer 2 weeks later and what took her 6 months , took my new attorney 2 months to accomplish. She is rude, she doesn’t answer calls or emails and gives you Attitude when you finally reach her. Needless to say I won with my new attorney so the best thing I got out of it was finding my new attorney who won the case.

Poor Service

I hired Jessica Brandon as my attorney I DID NOT LIKE the ... Confidentiality issues / No Shows / Cancelations- After she was hired, I started to see that the attorney missed deadlines, and canceled appointments without notice. Looking back maybe the office premises should have been a red flag ...as it was unsecured a number of times Example - when I went to the office for a scheduled meeting no one was there and her office door was left opened. I waited nearly an hour past appointment time before she arrived. This leaves confidential information open and suspetable to invasion of privacy. I DID NOT LIKE the ... lack of communication. Example- opposing attorney contacted me directly which to my understanding should not of happened. I forwarded that email to Jessica (my attorney) and she never responded as to how I was suppose to handle that situation. The opposing attorney wanted me to sign an order. I was billed for forwarding that email to her but she never responded to it. I DID NOT LIKE the...billing practices either. I received an invoice and found a number of errors on it. Errors such as services that were never rendered I DID NOT LIKE ... that on the day of court "none" of the things this attorney said she would do was ever brought up in court. I DID NOT LIKE ... being denied copies of things I'm billed for. Example: I repeatedly request a copy of the "Counter Response" this attorney filed with the court regarding a temporary order I received only to be met with she would send it to me later but that never happen.

"I endorse this lawyer. She is experienced and dedicated to her practice. Jessica advocates for her client but she is also passionate about keeping the focus on the best interest of the children when working to resolve her family law cases. She is able to keep a healthy balance between advocating for her client as well as working toward the best resolution for all those involved."
