Oneof the most valuable services an attorney can perform for a client isto give them protection AND save them money.  Thoughtful estateplanning does both.

Oneway it does so is by providing documents and strategies that willmake one's wishes known to family and the world at large should one becomeincapacitated, terminally ill, or die.  It is a long-term endeavor.  After all, these documents usuallyhave a very long shelf life, lasting for years - sometimes decades!  

Anotherway good planning helps is to cut down on legal expenses (andsometimes estate taxes) by paving the way for simple and independent  estate administration down the road.

Forme as an attorney, this is a fulfilling service.  I just love it.  One of my favorite aspects of estate planning is getting to knoweach family's unique makeup and circumstances.  (Oh-the stories I could tell!) I love knowing I am providing real help to afamily, and that they realize it’s a long-term, positive value proposition forthem and their heirs. 

Icharge less than most attorneys for estate planning from what I amtold.  I am OK with that.   Job satisfaction is about a lotmore than just the money earned ~ and I am a completely contentedattorney.
