There is a saying in East Texas that goes: “The shallower the stream, the louder the babble.” When it comes to advertising personal accomplishments, Chuck Newton always prefers to keep the stream as deep and quiet as possible.
Chuck Newton graduated from South Texas College of Law in Houston, Texas in 1985. He began practicing consumer bankruptcy law in 1986. He has personally represented debtors in over 4,000 bankruptcies in the Eastern and Northern District of Texas. He is licensed to practice in the State of Texas, in all four federal judicial districts in Texas and before the United States Court of Appeals, Fifth Circuit. He now practices with his wife and law partner, Jane Newton, in the Woodlands, Texas, just north of Houston. Since 1998 his law firm has limited its practice to litigating automatic stay violations in all federal bankruptcy courts in the State of Texas. Consumer bankruptcy attorneys from around the state refer cases to him.

"I have observed Chuck Newton in numerous contexts, and without exception, I have left impressed with his integrity in his dealings, his zeal with which he represents his clients, and his genuine approachability. I have observed him teach legal seminars, represent clients at meetings of creditors, and appear in court. Again, Chuck combines a kind and generous spirit with aggressive representation that leaves one feeling like he is dealing with a true professional. In particular, Chuck shines most while pursuing cases involving intentional stay violations in bankruptcy. He is the "go-to guy" for many if not most experienced bankruptcy attorneys when it comes to holding creditors responsible for unauthorized collections. I have elected to refer many such matters to Chuck now for 18 years. Two of my favorite aspects of Chuck’s MO is: (1) he works with well with the legal staff of other attorneys, and (2) he keeps everyone who is involved in his cases updated electronically."
