Skip Lanz, who works under Ruth, represented my case. He was always available to take my phone calls or returned them in a timely manner. As the laws for Father's are limited, I was able to obtain more than my fair share because Skip wouldn't settle. Skip was realistic on what I could obtain and not ...setting high hopes. If you are struggling to decide on whether or not you should hire representation, here is my analogy. If you are having issues with your car, are you going to fix it yourself, or are you going to hire a mechanic to fix it? If you know how to fix the problem, you don't need a mechanic. However, if you don't know how to fix the problem, you would hire a mechanic to fix it. If you know the law, then you don't need an attorney. But if you don't know all the laws, then I would highly recommend you hire an attorney. (Note: just because you have had friends/family go through a divorce, doesn't mean they know all the laws. I was seeking a modification to a current agreement which I knew going in was difficult but as a Mother knew was in the best interests of my child. I met with Ruth and her team, explained my situation and they made me very comfortable in pursuing my modification as well as informing me this was goin...g to be a difficult case. The case ended up going to trial after almost 10 months, 2 mediations and a temporary hearing. At the end Ruth was able to obtain an excellent result.
